What does "non-toxic" even mean?

"Non-toxic" gets thrown around a lot, so let's actually talk about it.

Every skincare product is technically a cocktail of chemicals — yes, even water is a chemical (H₂O, look it up). What "non-toxic" really means is that we skip the ingredients with a track record of causing harm at the concentrations used in skincare — things like parabens, phthalates, and formaldehyde-releasing preservatives, which have been linked to hormone disruption and skin irritation with regular use.

Think of your skin like a nightclub bouncer with a very short attention span: it lets some molecules in and turns others away at the door. Our job is making sure everything that gets past the bouncer is something your body actually knows what to do with — not a mystery guest crashing the party.

So no, "non-toxic" doesn't mean "contains zero chemicals" (impossible) — it means every ingredient earned its spot on the list and does it's job.

" I’ve always been a believer that taking care of yourself shouldn’t feel so complicated. What I struggled the most with was finding skincare that was environmentally-friendly, vegan, and clean beauty products, that weren't outrageously priced. With so many beauty products and routines constantly being pushed at us through social media trends, I wanted to create a place that makes beauty feel simple and reliable again.

I started this process pretty transparently by simply choosing some of my favorite products that I could stand behind with confidence. This meant it aligned with not just how it made my skin feel or look, but it also meant being able to know how these products I was using everyday were being created and what materials were going in them.
